Victorians from across the state have gathered to connect, unite and celebrate at the Premier’s Multicultural Gala Dinner.
Proudly hosted by the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC), the Gala – held on Saturday 30 August at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre – attracted more than 1,200 guests to a vibrant celebration promoting diversity, social cohesion and harmony.
The event paid tribute to the diverse and dynamic communities that make up Victoria, highlighting their ongoing connection and contributions to Victoria’s rich cultural tapestry.
The evening’s theme was ‘Harmony in Diversity’, with guests enjoying a stunning program of cultural foods and traditions. A vibrant entertainment program, reflecting Victoria’s multicultural society, featured music, dance and performances spanning the globe.
Guests included host Premier Jacinta Allan, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ingrid Stitt, Victorian Multicultural Commission Chairperson Vivienne Nguyen AM, leaders from across the political divide, and many Victorian multicultural and multifaith leaders.
The highly anticipated annual Gala encourages Victorians from across the state to come together and celebrate the diverse cultures, faith and traditions that define Victoria.
The event forms part of a calendar of VMC celebrations aimed at promoting and strengthening social cohesion, interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural understanding.
