Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence 2025

0:03 [music] I'm incredibly honored and deeply humbled. It is motivating everyone, every unsung hero working in the community.
0:12 Understanding [music] that you put in put in the effort and that gets recognized and that just builds a stronger and safer community. I hope that it means more people are
0:21 incentivized and inspired to go out to the communities and try to make a difference as refugees and migrants that came here to Australia and just finding our way through society and figuring things out.
0:34 Just being here today honestly is just tremendous.
0: 38 Winning this award uh means to me and my community that we are acknowledged. It's it's a way of telling us that the work
0:46 that that we are doing in the communities is advancing this state.
0:51: I think that it's really important to continue those successes but also to empower other new and emerging [music] communities. This award is not for me
1:00 but for my community and all the silent heroes who are working for their community fellows, welcoming the new
1:09 migrants, helping the refugees, asylum seekers and other people to make a better place to live in the mental
1:17 health and well-being space in the prevention and intervention. What I strive for is to improve that access and equity for the communities to ensure that they're healthy as you know.
1:29 I'm here today, but I really represent all the people that believe in our organization and all the people that attend [music] our events and want to
1:36 connect with our community to make this state a better state.
