Hello everyone I am here at Grazeland in Spotswood, right in the west of Melbourne, celebrating Multicultural Festival.
It is part of the Victorian Multicultural Commission's Cultural Diversity Week. To really bring out the strength of multicultural communities and the contributions we make.
Our social cohesion is really built on showing empathy understanding getting to know people getting to learn something new about them that you might not have known before.
Something in my culture that means a lot to me is the sense of belonging. Because belonging, belonging to one place and one theme connects us all.
Modern day Australia is multicultural, it's multilingual, it's multifaith, and is diverse in every sense of the way and I feel like Cultural Diversity Week is an opportunity for that to be represented, for that to be highlighted.
I see people in the traditional attires it's beautiful. I think that's a really awesome part to celebrate. Cultural diversity to me means identity.
It means who we are as Australians. The more diverse we are the more beautiful we are as people.
For me, my culture says you give back what you have received in abundance and as a migrant to this country
I am giving back to everything that this country has provided me. About this specific festival celebrating Cultural Diversity Week is the food.
Oh, the foods from all parts of the world. They just are really my favourite thing of this festival.
Cultural Diversity Week means that we can all come together and we can celebrate our shared culture our stories and traditions.
