The Multicultural Festivals and Events (MFE) Program funds multicultural and multifaith community groups to hold cultural festivals and events in their local communities.

The program aims to encourage Victorians to participate in festivals and events that celebrate and embrace our state's vibrant cultural diversity.

Applications for regional festivals and events and newly arrived community celebrations for will be highly regarded.

MFE 2020-21 includes 2 rounds: 

  • Round 1 is now open for applications to hold festivals and events from 1 July to 31 December 2020.
  • Round 2 will open later in 2020 for applications to hold festivals and events from 1 January to 30 June 2021.

Round 1 applications are now open and close Tuesday 10 March 2020 at 11.59pm.

Grants available

Community grants – $2000 or less

Apply now for a community grant

Small grants where the activity will reach the organisation’s community and be an event or festival that is accessible for the whole community to attend. At least 100 people will attend metropolitan events and at least 50 people will attend regional events.

Partnerships grants – $7000 to $70,000

Apply now for a partnership grant

Grants for two agencies to partner on an activity that will reach multiple communities across Victoria, with at least 2000 people attending metropolitan events and at least 1000 people attending regional events.
