VMC Chair, Vivienne Nguyen, said she is delighted by the Commissioner appointments.
“I warmly congratulate and welcome each of our new Commissioners to our team.”
“As a group, we have a diverse mix of professional skills, lived experience and a shared passion for supporting not only Victoria’s multicultural communities but all Victorians,” she said.
The VMC welcomes:

- Khayshie Tilak (Youth Commissioner) for 2 years
- Mohammed (Community Representative Commissioner) for 2 years
- Bwe for 4 years
- Judy for 4 years
- David Nyuol for 4 years
- Shankar for 4 years
- Sisay for 2 years
The newly appointed Commissioners join current serving Commissioners Tina Hosseini, Walter Rapoport and Rosaria Zarro, giving the VMC its full complement of 12 Commissioners.
“The Commission has some exciting work ahead in promoting the cultural, social and economic benefits of diversity and supporting Victorians of all backgrounds to express and preserve their cultural heritage and traditions.”
“I look forward to working alongside my fellow Commissioners to deliver a range of initiatives that achieve positive outcomes for culturally and linguistically diverse Victorians and to foster harmony and understanding between communities.”
“I would like to thank all previous Commissioners for their contribution and commitment to the Commission and to multicultural Victoria. We now have the great privilege of building on their achievements,” said Ms Nguyen.
